Is it because the supply of silver is thinning out and we only have about 2 decades worth of actual silver supply left to mine?
Is it because its industrial utility is too great and unpredictably prone to being sudden movements because of sudden advances in technology (like the infrastructure demand for AI data centers or electric cars)?
Is it because silver is more expensive to process and store in stable condition compared to gold? I know that silver requires vacuum seals because it goes through oxidation or so called sulfidation.
Is it because gold has already been playing that role well and therefore there is no immediate geopolitical or bureaucratic incentive to suddenly try to make use of silver?
Why can’t the financial world keep gold as their reserve, but also introduce a new currency in parallel that is based on silver?
